Marengo Cave

This past week we went down to my Mom's in southern Indiana. On Wednesday we went to Marengo Cave. The tour was about 40 minutes. It was really cool. None of us had ever been in a cave before. We were told by the tour guide that this particular cave was discovered in 1883 by a 15-year-old girl and her 11-year-old brother. They had discovered a sinkhole in the woods and snuck out of the house with candles and went exploring. Jake could not get to sleep that night for thinking of that young girl and her brother sneaking out of the house without telling their mom where they were going. My mom has a Scarlett O'Hara doll and he was afraid the doll was going to come to life and ask him to go explore a cave. The things that scare them!

Hey!!! We went to the Marengo cave this summer too. It wasn't really that enjoyable though... Mallory was afraid and cried (loudly) all the way through the cave. We barely heard anything our guide said!!!!
